Anello Joins Adams and Reese as Special Counsel; Enhances Firm’s Commercial Lending, Real Estate Practice

(LAWFUEL) – Claude B. Anello, former Of Counsel and Shareholder in the Real Estate Development & Investments Practice Group at Houston-based law firm Winstead PC, has joined the Adams and Reese LLP Houston office as Special Counsel in the Transactions Practice Group. Anello has extensive experience in commercial lending, real estate and transactions, corporate governance issues and commercial transactions.

In his real estate and commercial lending practice, Anello has assisted clients in numerous lending transactions, including: a national auto manufacturer in negotiations and documentation of a number of credit facilities secured by automotive dealerships; a $110-million multi-state real estate/vessel secured credit facility; a $46-million credit facility secured by a petrochemical refinery; and disposition of a number of properties acquired by lenders as a result of foreclosures.

For the past four years (2006-2009), Anello has been honored as a “Texas Rising Star” in the area of Commercial Real Estate Transactions Law by Texas Monthly Magazine/Law & Politics. No more than 2.5 percent of Texas lawyers receive this honor each year.

Before Winstead, Anello was an Associate at the Houston office of McGlinchey Stafford, PLLC. In law school, he worked as a legal intern at Enron Capital & Trade Resources. He worked as a legal intern at Enron Capital & Trade Resources, and also Houston’s Harris County District Attorney Office in the Environmental Crime Division.

Anello is a member of the Business Law and Real Estate, Probate and Trust Law sections of the State Bar of Texas and is licensed to practice in Texas.

In the community, he serves as Chairman of the Boards of Directors of the Houston Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone No. 13 and Redevelopment Authority No. 13.

Anello received his Doctor of Jurisprudence in 1998 from the University of Houston Law Center. He also has a Bachelor of Science in Zoology (1995) and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology (1993) from the University of Texas at Austin.
