NEW YORK, 1 September 2015 – Hogan Lovells is pleased to announce that Oliver J. Armas has been named the new managing partner of the New York office. Armas handles cross-border litigation, international arbitrations, and internal investigations.

In addition, Business Restructuring and Insolvency partner Christopher R. Donoho III will take over as the new administrative partner.

“Since joining the firm, Ollie has quickly become a mainstay in our cross-border disputes and Latin America practices, and has a strong reputation among his peers for his work in complex domestic and international matters,” said Hogan Lovells CEO Stephen J. Immelt. “Chris is equally as respected for his commitment to the firm and has built a substantial practice around restructuring companies and protecting creditors’ rights. We are very excited for both Ollie and Chris to step into their new leadership roles in the New York office.”

Armas succeeds Dennis Tracey, who has been in the position since 2005 and will continue as Head of Litigation for the Americas. Donoho will take the place of partner David Dunn, who served as the administrative partner for 12 years. Dunn will continue to focus on his Litigation practice.

“In my past few years at Hogan Lovells I have enjoyed playing a part in the growth of the firm, including our combination with prominent Mexican firm Barrera, Siqueiros y Torres Landa and further building the International Arbitration practice in New York,” Armas said. “We have set some pretty lofty goals for our New York office and I am eager to take on my new role and, along with Chris, help lead our team in achieving them. Five years into our historic merger, Hogan Lovells is poised for very significant growth and the New York office is seen as one of the firm’s key drivers.”

Hogan Lovells’ New York office combines an in-depth knowledge of a wide variety of industries with an up-to-the-minute understanding of global market forces. The New York office’s more than 180 lawyers call on the skills of 2,300 counterparts in 40 offices in the United States, Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and Latin America, giving the office an ability to match clients’ specific needs to the firm’s worldwide skills. It provides a full range of litigation and transactional advice to Fortune 500 companies, multinational corporations, emerging businesses, and individual business leaders.

As Hogan Lovells creates a combined firm-wide Diversity and Inclusion Committee, Ollie’s Cuban American heritage and global vision attests to the global nature of the New York office, the firm, and how it reflects the diversity of its clients in its own culture.
