Hong Kong, 7 July 2015 – Mayer Brown JSM intends to form an association with the Hong Kong office of Jingtian & Gongcheng (“Jingtian”), which will be established upon the receipt of regulatory approval from The Law Society of Hong Kong. Under this arrangement, Mayer Brown JSM will provide office space and other resources to secondees from Jingtian in Hong Kong. The two firms would continue to operate as separate entities, and they are not contemplating a merger or combination.
The parties expect that the association will facilitate providing access for Jingtian’s China-based clients to legal services provided by Mayer Brown JSM lawyers in Hong Kong and throughout the firm. In addition, the firms intend to work together to explore ways to better serve their respective clients through their cooperative efforts.

Jingtian & Gongcheng is one of the first private and independent law firm partnerships in China. Headquartered in Beijing, Jingtian has three other offices in Shanghai, Shenzhen and Chengdu. It is widely recognized as a leading business law firm in the mainland China market.
