Clifford Chance announces it has advised Barclays Private Equity, which has been newly named Equistone Partners Europe, on its spin-out from Barclays Bank.

Head of Private Equity David Walker led an international, multidisciplinary team on the spin-out along with senior associate Andrew Mills, and Private Funds Partner Nigel Hatfield. Expertise was also drawn from London Partners, Nick Mace and Tony Stewart (tax), Simon Crown (regulatory), André Duminy (transitional services), Mike Crossan (employment), Jenine Hulsmann (anti-trust), Imogen Clarke (pensions) and Mike Edwards (real estate). The international team included Gilles Lebreton (Paris – corporate), Julien Ruderman (Paris – tax), Eric Davoudet (Paris – tax), Burc Hesse and Jan Wrede (Munich – corporate) and Lucio Bonavitacola (Milan).

David has led the Firm's relationship for BPE for many years, advising on numerous transactions, including the acquisitions of The Mill, GlobalBlue and A-Plan and the recent disposals of First Assist and Cabot Financial.
