Partners Michael Bierman and Jeffrey Wexler help client prevail in false advertising and unfair competition case
LOS ANGELES (November 14, 2011) –Luce, Forward, Hamilton & Scripps LLP, one of California’s leading litigation law firms, announced today a recent trial victory for its client K&N Engineering in a false advertising and unfair competition case, K&N Engineering, Inc. v. Spectre Performance, Case No. ED CV 09-1900 VAP (DTBx), United States District Court for the Central District of California (Eastern Division), before the Honorable Virginia A. Phillips. The jury awarded K&N more than $7.3 million, the exact amount sought, on six different claims brought against competitor Spectre Performance.
Michael Bierman and Jeffrey Wexler, partners in Luce Forward’s Los Angeles office, and their team, convinced the jury that Spectre intentionally engaged in false advertising in connection with the marketing and sale of its performance automotive air filters and air intake systems. The jury also returned a defense verdict in favor of K&N on Spectre’s counterclaims for false advertising.
