Lawfuel.com - The Katy Perry divorce proceeding has seen Katy Perry put on her brave face to make her first public appearance since husband Russell Brand announced that the marriage was ended and divorce proceedings had been instituted.
Katy Perry still plans to attend the People's choice Awards on January 11.
Brand spent Christmas in the U.K., while she vacationed with friends in Kauai, Hawaii. She was reported shocked to discover that her husband had reneged on an agreement to simply have a break over Christmas separately and filed papers on December 30, citing irreconcilable differences.
He released a statement reading: 'Sadly, Katy and I are ending our marriage. I'll always adore her and I know we'll remain friends.'
That may not be the case, as a family friend tells the magazine that 'Katy is devastated. She was brought up with the belief marriage is forever and feels she failed.'
