ATLANTA (April 7 - LAWFUEL) -- Kilpatrick Stockton announced today that the firm, for the second year in a row, received four “Firm of the Year” awards – representing the most “Firm of the Year” awards won at Managing Intellectual Property Magazine’s annual North American Intellectual Property Awards Dinner held recently in Washington, D.C.

Kilpatrick Stockton received the following prestigious awards:

• Copyright Firm of the Year in the South;
• Patent Prosecution Firm of the Year in the South;
• Trademark Contentious Firm of the Year in the South; and
• Trademark Prosecution Firm of the Year in the South

The firm also received national recognition for its work in Copyright, Patent Prosecution, Trademark Contentious, and Trademark Prosecution.

This recognition follows Kilpatrick Stockton being named “North America’s Top IP Firm” for 2008 and “North America’s Top Trademark Firm” for 2008 at the World International IP Awards in London. Kilpatrick Stockton is also the only law firm in the United States to have two wins in the IP Law & Business “Top 10 Litigation Wins of 2008,” including: the complete defense verdict for client Cox Communications in a $1.2 billion patent infringement case and the record-breaking verdict for client adidas, which was the largest jury verdict ever in a trademark case. The adidas verdict was also ranked eighth in the National Law Journal’s listing of the “Top Verdicts of 2008.”

More than 40 awards were presented at the recent awards dinner to leading firms in the United States, Canada and, for the first time, Mexico, during the awards dinner. The awards were the results from more than six months of analysis by Managing Intellectual Property Magazine’s team of researchers. Hundreds of written and personal interviews occurred with intellectual property practitioners and owners worldwide. Based on the research, the team created shortlists of firms in various categories with winners selected from these shortlists.
