Los Angeles, California – LawFuel.com - The owner of SYSD Han, Inc. pleaded guilty today to the charge of filing false federal income tax returns.
Yun Jung Han, a resident of Cerritos, California, appeared in United States District Court in Los Angeles today to enter her guilty plea before Judge R. Gary Klausner.
According to the plea agreement, Han electronically filed false Forms 1120-S (federal income tax return for an S-corporation) that included the Forms 8879-S (IRS e-file signature authorization) with the Internal Revenue Service. Han reported $669,418 of gross receipts for SYSD Han, Inc, when in fact, Han knew that the corporation had more gross receipts that what she reported.
In 2005, Han operated a car wash through SYSD Han, Inc. that was called Bear Valley Car Wash, located in Hesperia, California. In the same year, the car wash generated cash receipts which Han diverted to a bank account that she did not disclose to his tax preparer. Han underreported the gross receipts from her car wash for year 2005, and again in 2006.
Han is scheduled to be sentenced on February 22, 2009 at 1:30 before Judge Klausner. Han faces a penalty of 3 years imprisonment and one year supervised release.
