15 September – LAWFUEL – The Law News Network – Corporate and commercial specialist in the shipping, logistics and ports sectors, Mark Wandless has joined Holman Fenwick & Willan as a Partner. He brings a wealth of experience after 14 years with P&O where he rose to the position of Assistant Legal Director and Assistant Company Secretary.
Mark’s appointment is in line with the firm’s strategy of further strengthening the transactional side of the practice. He will work closely with Nick Hutton and his team on corporate and commercial matters, including international acquisitions, disposals and joint ventures. Mark will also work with Alistair Mackie and his team on port infrastructure and development projects. Earlier in the year Holman Fenwick & Willan strengthened its transaction team when ship finance specialist John Forrester and two Assistants joined from Stephenson Harwood.
Mark read law at the University of Kent at Canterbury and followed this with an M Phil at Jesus College, Cambridge. Mark was articled at a major City firm and admitted as a solicitor in 1986. After five years in private practice he joined P&O’s legal department. Whilst at P&O Mark attended The London Business School and Templeton College, Oxford. Mark’s work at P&O included managing the demerger of P&O’s cruises business to P&O Princess Cruises (now part of Carnival) and the sales of Associated Bulk Carriers plc and Earls Court & Olympia.
