24 November 2006 – LAWFUEL – Legal News, Legal Jobs Network – Mayer, Brown, Rowe & Maw LLP’s London real estate group has advised Unilever on its pre-let agreement with developer Landid and real estate and infrastructure investment company RREEF for a new state of the art head office at Leatherhead Office Park.
Additionally, the firm has advised Unilever on the sale of its iconic 12,542 sq m, Grade II listed Walton-on-Thames office to Green Property. Unilever has occupied this office since it was built for Bird’s Eye in 1961, and will remain at the office until the relocation to Leatherhead.
The Leatherhead development will become the home of a ?2.5 billion business for Unilever’s leading brands which include Persil, Flora, Magnum, PG Tips, Lynx, Walls, Domestos and Hellmanns. The integration of Unilever’s three existing UK businesses – Foods, Home and Personal Care and Ice Cream – will create the nation’s biggest consumer goods business.
This ambitious new development will take approximately two years to construct and fit out.
The Mayer, Brown, Rowe & Maw LLP team advising on the Leatherhead project is led by real estate partners Gary Bownes and Rachel Mace.
Gary Bownes, assisted by Nick Marshall, also advised Unilever on the sale of the Walton-on-Thames office.
