American Law News – Cynthia Blake Sanders Elected President of Maryland Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts

BALTIMORE, MD July 12, 2012 – – The law firm Ober|Kaler announced today that Cynthia Blake Sanders, an associate in the firm’s Intellectual Property Group, has been elected President of Maryland Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts (MdVLA) for a one-year term, effective July 1, 2012.

Founded in 1985, MdVLA is a nonprofit organization that provides lawyer referral services and pro bono legal assistance to income-eligible artists and arts organizations. Ms. Sanders has been worked with MdVLA since 1998 and has served on its board since 2006.

An active member of Baltimore’s arts community, Ms. Sanders also serves on the boards of the Baltimore School for the Arts, Black Cherry Puppet Theater and the Baltimore Chapter of the American Advertising Federation. She teaches an annual course on entertainment and sports law at the University of Maryland School of Law and has also served as an adjunct faculty member at the Maryland Institute College of Art.
Ms. Sanders is an experienced intellectual property and entertainment attorney.
