Fox have joined as partners in the Firm’s Tokyo office. Ms. Fuyuno’s practice focuses on commercial litigation and general corporate counseling, in particular, antitrust counseling and litigation. Mr. Fox’s practice focuses on complex intellectual property litigation, licensing and counseling matters.

Joy Fuyuno (qualified in California, U.S.)
Ms. Fuyuno is a litigation partner with focus on commercial litigation and general corporate counseling. In particular, Ms. Fuyuno has substantial experience in antitrust counseling and litigation. She joined Paul Hastings from Bingham McCutchen LLP in San Francisco, where she worked on multi-jurisdictional price-fixing cases and other complex antitrust class actions, as well as governmental investigations and filings in connection with major mergers and acquisitions. Ms. Fuyuno is currently Vice-Chair of the International Committee of the Antitrust Section of the American Bar Association. Ms. Fuyuno received her J.D. from Columbia Law School and her undergraduate degree from Stanford University. She is admitted to practice in California. She is fluent in English, French and Japanese.
Maxwell A. Fox (qualified in California, U.S.)
Mr. Fox is a litigation partner with focus on complex intellectual property litigation, licensing and counseling matters. He has successfully represented some of the world’s leading manufacturers and distributors of electronic hardware in separate large-scale patent disputes against major competitors. He has litigated patent infringement, copyright, and trade secret matters involving a diverse array of technologies. Mr. Fox was relocated from the Firm’s Los Angeles office. He received his J.D. from the University of California’s Boalt Hall School of Law and his undergraduate degree from Dartmouth College. He is fluent in English and Japanese.
