ATLANTA (February 2) – LAWFUEL – US Law Firm News – Kilpatrick Stockton announced today that Charles Calkins, Candace Fowler, Phillip Street and David Whelpley have been elected to serve on the firm’s Executive Committee. Mr. Calkins, a partner in the firm’s Intellectual Property Department in Winston-Salem; Mr. Whelpley, a partner in the firm’s Corporate Department in Charlotte; and Mr. Street, Chair of the firm’s Health Care and Life Sciences team in Atlanta have each been elected to serve a three-year term. Ms. Fowler, a partner in the firm’s Financial Transactions, Real Estate and Restructuring Department, will serve a one-year term on the Committee beginning in 2008.

Charles Calkins, a registered patent attorney, heads the firm’s North Carolina patent practice. He leads the patent prosecution teams for ExxonMobil Corporation, General Electric Corporation, Eastman Chemical Company, Lexmark Corporation and numerous emerging life sciences and technology companies. He graduated from Boston University School of Law in 1984.

Candace Fowler practices in the area of commercial real estate, with particular experience in the areas of property dispositions and acquisitions, and equity and institutional investment in real estate. She graduated with distinction from Emory University School of Law in 1986.

Phillip Street’s primary areas of practice include health care and life sciences transactions, including business mergers, acquisitions and joint ventures and the commercialization of life sciences research. He graduated from Vanderbilt University Law School in 1986.

David Whelpley regularly practices in the areas of domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, corporate finance (both debt and equity) and commercial transactions. He graduated with distinction from Emory University School of Law in 1989.

Miles Alexander, Steve Clay and Bob Elster were re-elected as Firm Co-Chairs.

Steve Berlin, Bill Boice, Randy Hafer, Hil Jordan, Neil Levy, Rey Pascual, and David Zacks as well as the new managing partners, Bill Dorris and Diane Prucino, comprise the remainder of the 2007 Kilpatrick Stockton Executive Committee.
