(BALTIMORE) September 21, 2006 – LAWFUEL – Corporate Law News – DLA Piper US LLP announced that Kathleen Chagnon has joined the firm’s Corporate and Securities practice group as a partner in the firm’s Baltimore office. She comes to DLA Piper from Saul Ewing LLP.
Chagnon focuses her practice on major business transactions and representation of public and private companies. She has extensive experience with mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance matters and legal department management issues. She also has broad exposure to the energy and insurance industries, and has a significant work history both as an in-house and private lawyer.

Prior to joining Saul Ewing, Chagnon served as Senior Vice President and General Counsel for Constellation Energy Group in Baltimore, where she oversaw an 80-person legal division and was responsible for all legal matters for the organization including general corporate matters, commercial finance, securities compliance, acquisition and new venture activities, environmental and regulatory matters, litigation and supervision of outside counsel.
Before working at Constellation Energy Group, Chagnon served as Vice President, Corporate General Counsel of The St. Paul Companies, Inc., where she was in charge of the Corporate Legal Division.

She received a B.A. with honors from Stanford University and a J.D. from Columbia Law School.
