LawFuel.com – Legal News – Singapore: Leading international law firm Clifford Chance has advised Calyon and BNPP as lenders on the financing of three Airbus A330-300 aircraft for Thai Airways.
All three aircraft were delivered and financed on the same day under an ECA supported facility fronted by ECGD.
“The past six months have seen a returning sense of confidence in the industry. This deal, and others in which we are involved, shows that airlines are maintaining their replacement and upgrading plans, despite the financial shocks of 2008,” said partner Simon Briscoe, who led the team advising Calyon and BNPP. “Asian airlines in general appear cautious but confident in their plans for 2010.”
Simon was assisted by associate Evan Plank. Both are based in the firm’s Singapore office.
