Former EEOC Senior Trial Attorney Sally Ramsey-Brown Joins Adams and Reese Nashville Office

(Nashville, Tennessee) – 20 February 2012 – Adams and Reese is pleased to announce that Sally Ramsey-Brown, former Senior Trial Attorney for the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission Nashville office, has joined the law firm of Adams and Reese as Special Counsel.

She is a member of the firm’s Special Business Services practice group with experience in labor and employment and transportation and logistics law.

Ramsey-Brown spent more than 10 years dealing with employment discrimination cases before federal district courts. She has trained and spoken before the Nashville and Tennessee Bar Associations, National Employment Lawyer Association, Society of Human Resources Management, Vanderbilt Law School and local private employers. Ramsey-Brown has trained employers regarding compliance with Title VII, Americans with Disabilities Act, Age Discrimination in Employment Act and the Equal Pay Act on behalf of the EEOC Training Center.

“Sally has a tremendous amount of experience in litigation and investigation for the EEOC, giving her valuable insight into the processes, procedures, limitations and expectations of the Commission,” said Brad Lampley, Partner in Charge of the Adams and Reese Nashville office. “That experience will be a valuable benefit for our clients, and she will be a strong addition to our labor and employment team in Nashville.”

Ramsey-Brown is the third labor and employment attorney to join the Adams and Reese Nashville office within the last month, following the move of Partner Tony Swafford and Associate Kyle Young, both from Miller & Martin, where Swafford chaired both the firm’s labor and employment department and transportation practice group.

“I have known Sally for years and have always admired her work, even if we were on opposite sides of a particular issue. She is not only a great trial lawyer, but also a superb teacher and speaker on employment law issues,” Swafford said. “This experience will be a tremendous asset to our clients in the areas of counseling, prevention and litigation. The experience Sally brings from her years in the airline industry will also add depth to the firm’s transportation and logistics practice.”

Before law school, Ramsey-Brown spent 20 years in the aircraft transportation business, working as both agent and former supervisor for American Airlines in New York and Tennessee, where she coordinated between the labor union and upper management and was involved in customs, immigration and aircraft routing.

Ramsey-Brown formerly served as Assistant Attorney General in the Tennessee Attorney General’s Office, Bankruptcy Division, where she managed as many as 2,000 active bankruptcy cases and handled cases before Federal Bankruptcy Court and in front of the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.

She is an active member of the Lawyers Association for Women, Nashville Bar Association, and Tennessee Bar Association.

Ramsey-Brown earned her J.D., magna cum laude, at Touro College Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center in Huntington, New York, in 1997. She was the associate editor for the Law Review. She received her B.A. in Psychology from the State University of New York at Old Westbury in 1993.
