Kilpatrick Stockton, a law firm with a base in Winston-Salem, said Monday it had merged with Muldoon Murphy & Aguggia, a firm based in Washington, D.C., representing financial institutions and businesses. The combined firm will be known as Kilpatrick Stockton.
Paul Aguggia, who served as the firm’s chairman, will lead Kilpatrick Stockton’s financial institutions team will be based in Washington along with all 22 attorneys and 13 staff from the prior firm.
Based on a leading trade publication’s information for 2007, the combined firm would be ranked 7th nationally in number of financial institution mergers and acquisitions handled.
“The joining of forces is a win-win for Kilpatrick Stockton clients who will now have access to enhanced expertise in the financial services arena including increased depth in corporate transactional and securities experience,” said Bill Dorris, co-managing partner with Kilpatrick Stockton. “Clients, attorneys and staff in the combined firm will benefit greatly from this strategic partnership.”
