LawFuel.com’s Hot Files reports that Scooter Libby can hardly complain about the wattage of his witnesses and trial spectators, even if he may not like the verdict. Thursday saw “Law and Order” prosecutor and former Senator Fred Thompson in the public gallery, positioned next to Scooter’s PR person, Barbara Comstock.

Thompson listened to NBC DC bureau chief Tim Russert’s evidence, but it seems the guest appearance was as a friend of Scooter’s rather than “Law and Order” research.

Thompson served one term in the Senate, then decided not to seek re-election, choosing instead to portray a New York City prosecutor on “Law and Order”.
