Annual Leadership Dinner Held to Pass the Gavel
SAN DIEGO (April 28, 2009 – LAWFUEL) – Jennifer Severson, Office Administrator for Luce, Forward, Hamilton & Scripps LLP, has been appointed as President of the San Diego Chapter of the Association of Legal Administrators (ALA-SD) for the 2009 – 2010 term. She follows a legacy of Luce Forward administrators who have served in the role as President of the ALA-SD. The gavel was passed to Severson from outgoing President Lucy Frederick, Human Resources Director for Seltzer Caplan McMahon Vitek, at the ALA-SD’s annual Leadership Dinner on April 21, 2009.
Severson has served on the board of directors of ALA-SD, and will now serve as President through March 2010. During her term, she plans to lessen the group’s carbon footprint by implementing the electronic distribution of their newsletter, membership handbook and other materials. There will also be a community outreach initiative through “Learn the Legal” events, as well as efforts to better tie together the organization’s professional partnerships with other legal organizations, and continue the learning programs set up by Frederick for administrators and legal secretaries. A fund-raising fashion show will also occur in October 2010.
“Many members of the local, regional and national chapters have supported me through this very rewarding journey,” said Jennifer Severson, President of the San Diego Chapter of the Association of Legal Administrators. ”I believe that teaching is the best way to give back to this profession and look forward to our chapter making a positive impact in the legal administrative arena in San Diego.”

She has been an adjunct professor in the paralegal program at the University of California San Diego for a number of years. She is also a member of the Society for Human Resources Management and an avid San Diego Chargers fan.
