Marks and Spencer Group – Possible bid by Revival
On 27 May 2004 Revival Acquisitions Limited, a company widely thought to be owned by Philip Green and members of his family, announced that it was considering a possible offer for the shares of Marks and Spencer Group p.l.c. On 3 June 2004 Revival announced outline terms of a possible offer which indicated any such offer would be likely to involve a mixture of cash (range of between 290 and 310 pence per ordinary share) and a 25 per cent. interest in the equity of the Revival Group in the form of a listed security.
