MICHAEL J. GARCIA, the United States Attorney for the
Southern District of New York, and JOSEPH GUCCIONE, the United
States Marshal for the Southern District of New York, announced
that EDDIE RAYMORE, was arrested yesterday on charges of failing
to update and register as a sex offender, in violation of the
Adam Walsh Act. RAYMORE was presented in Manhattan federal court
before United States Magistrate Judge KEVIN N. FOX and ordered
detained. As alleged in a criminal complaint filed in Manhattan
federal court:

RAYMORE was convicted on or about April 14, 1992, in
Kings County Supreme Court, of rape in the first degree. RAYMORE
is a level 3 registered sex offender, and as such is required
under New York Law to register as a sex offender for life.
After release from prison, RAYMORE returned to New
York. As a level 3 sex offender, he was required to satisfy
90-day reporting obligations, which included notifying the New
York Police Department’s Sexual Offenders Monitoring Unit
(“SOMU”) of any change in address or employment.

RAYMORE registered in New York under a New York
address, but traveled to, lived, and worked in Florida, obtaining
a Florida driver’s license with a Florida address. RAYMORE
failed to update his information with the SOMU and failed to
register in Florida as required by law.
RAYMORE was arrested yesterday by officers of the SOMU
and the United States Marshal’s Service in Manhattan. If
convicted, RAYMORE faces a maximum sentence of 10 years’
imprisonment.

Mr. GARCIA praised the efforts of the officers of the
