Legal Jobs has a new position advertised for the New Zealand Land Transport Agency, as an inhouse role for a lawyer to take a challenging role with one of New Zealand’s leading public sector organisations.

The Senior Legal Counsel will be a key member of the in-house legal team with the NZ Land Transport Agency and have an influential role in enabling the necessary consents for NZTA capital projects to be achieved. Many of these projects are of a significant and high profile nature. In addition, this person will play a key role in providing advice to senior managers and others at the NZTA, on a wide range of legal issues. This may involve, advice in relation to statutory plans, legislative development and interpretation, and other matters of critical importance to the ongoing operation and management of the national State highway network, and drafting and interpreting agreements, as well as participating in mediations, Court and Council hearings.
