<a href= Public Law Job, NZ Legal Board The role will focus primarily on specific local government legislation and issues, but as a member of the Governance and Democracy team, you will be involved in all kinds of public law matters- anything from abandoned vehicles to zoos.
You will deal with requests for advice on governance matters, official information and privacy, legislative compliance, decision making and law making functions, democratic process and delegations. As a legislative subject matter expert, you will contribute to fulfilling the objectives of the team and Legal Services Group, and will also demonstrate your meticulous approach and attention to detail when maintaining and updating the delegations register.

You will have a tertiary qualification in law and, preferably, a sound knowledge of local government legislation, council practices and constraints. Your fantastic communication skills, both verbal and written, will be fundamental. You will be a team player with a pro-active approach and the ability to work on your own initiative, managing your time to meet deadlines.
