Senft, a principal in the firm’s Health Law Group, has been appointed to serve on the Board of Trustees of the Maryland Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, effective January 1, 2013.
Established in 1955, the Maryland Chapter is dedicated to addressing the challenges of the 6,500 people in Maryland living with multiple sclerosis (MS). The Chapter provides information and assistance through programs and services that meet the physical, mental and emotional needs of those living with MS, their family members, friends and health care professionals. The Chapter is also a leader in its contributions to funding for the National MS Society’s research initiatives.
“I have been immersed in the health care industry since the very beginning of my career, first as a physical therapist and now as a health lawyer,” said Ms. Senft.
“I’m delighted to put my experience to work in service to those whose lives are affected by MS.” Ms. Senft focuses her law practice on health care transactions and regulatory matters. She represents various providers, including hospitals, nursing facilities, assisted living facilities, clinical laboratories, home health agencies, hospices, adult day care centers, rehabilitation agencies, physician groups, pharmacies and DMEPOS suppliers in Medicare and Medicaid enrollment, certification and compliance issues; billing and reimbursement; and federal and state licensure. Prior to attending law school, Ms. Senft practiced as a licensed physical therapist and provided more than twenty years of clinical and administrative services to rehabilitation departments in various health care settings. Since 1992, she has served as the co-chair of the Impaired Professionals Committee of the American Physical Therapy Association of Maryland.
