Shapiro, Lifschitz & Schram Promotes Three Attorneys to Vice President and Senior Counsel Positions

WASHINGTON, DC – Shapiro, Lifschitz & Schram, P.C. is pleased to announce that Robert A. Foster, James D. McMichael and Reed P. Sexter, have all been named Vice President and Senior Counsel at the firm.

Robert A. Foster (“Bob”) has been practicing with the firm since its inception 20 years ago. He focuses on real estate and business transactions and has worked on some of the most complex and significant commercial transactions in the Washington metropolitan area, including syndications, acquisitions and sales of multi-family residential properties, hotels, shopping centers, and commercial office buildings. He holds a J.D. and M.B.A. from the University of Illinois and is admitted to the District of Columbia Bar. Foster is also a LEED® Accredited Professional and member of the International Council of Shopping Centers.

James D. McMichael (“Jim”) has been trying complex civil cases for over 20 years. This includes highly complex construction, commercial and insurance litigation matters. He regularly represents parties in complex power industry construction disputes. McMichael holds a J.D. from University of Texas School of Law and is admitted to the District of Columbia, Maryland and Louisiana Bars.

Reed P. Sexter advises small to middle market companies on all aspects of their businesses, business entity formation and development (including joint ventures, partnerships and limited liability companies). He also focuses on retail, commercial office and industrial leasing for landlords and tenants, real estate and construction financing, real estate development and the acquisition and disposition of businesses and commercial real estate projects. Sexter holds a J.D. from Hofstra University School of Law and is admitted as a member to the District of Columbia Bar. He is a member of the Washington, D.C. Real Estate Group and International Council of Shopping Centers.
