BALTIMORE, MD – February 16, 2012 The law firm Ober|Kaler is pleased to announce that Sanford V. Teplitzky, chair of the firm’s Health Law Group, has once again been recognized as a “Client Service All-Star” in the BTI Client Service All-Stars for Law Firms 2012 survey.
This is the fifth consecutive year that Mr. Teplitzky has been selected for this ranking. He is one of only two lawyers from across the nation who have been selected for five or more years. The 2012 survey notes that “clients commend [Mr. Teplitzky’s] ‘breadth of knowledge’ in health law and his client-focused delivery of practice advice.”
The BTI Client Service All-Stars survey is based exclusively on feedback from corporate counsel at the nation’s largest companies. These companies are asked to identify attorneys who deliver superior service in five key areas: client focus exceptional understanding of clients’ business, outstanding results, outsized value and legal skills.
A health lawyer for over thirty years, Mr. Teplitzky represents health care clients in fraud and abuse matters. His experience in Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement issues and policies includes representation of clients before the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and in various U.S. district courts and courts of appeals. He represents health care providers with respect to Medicare and Medicaid fraud investigations and related matters. He also represents professional and trade associations, negotiates with state and federal authorities, and provides counsel with respect to a broad range of legislative issues.
Mr. Teplitzky is a frequent writer and lecturer on various health care fraud and abuse issues and is active in the American Health Lawyers Association (AHLA). A former AHLA president, Mr. Teplitzky chaired the organization’s annual fraud and abuse seminar for over 10 years, and was named an AHLA Founding Fellow in 2005. In 2008, Mr. Teplitzky received the Association’s prestigious David J. Greenburg Service Award, presented annually to those lawyers who have made significant contributions to the AHLA over the course of their careers. He is also an adjunct professor at the University of Maryland School of Law, where he teaches a health care fraud and abuse seminar. Mr. Teplitzky holds degrees from Tulane University School of Law (JD, with honor, 1975) and Washington University (AB, 1972).
