Top Ranking for Both Overall Deals and Private Equity
LAWFUEL – The Law Firm Newswire – DLA Piper finished 2006 as the third most active firm in the world in private equity and venture capital, according to the year-end league tables issued by Private Equity Analyst. The firm placed third in both overall deals – which includes both private equity and venture capital deals – and also for the total number of private equity deals.
The firm’s performance in private equity and venture capital was driven by robust deal flow in key markets including Atlanta, Austin, Boston, Chicago, China, East Palo Alto, New York, Northern Virginia, Seattle, the U.K. and Washington, D.C.
“We are thrilled with our strong standing in Private Equity Analyst’s 2006 year-end league tables,” said Anthony Rickert, co-chair of DLA Piper’s Private Equity practice group. “This latest accomplishment is an indication of how our firm’s practice continues to succeed with hard work put forth by a group of extraordinary lawyers.”
“Our 2006 ranking, which included a mix of US and non-US deals, is testament to the success of the firm’s global platform,” added Jay Smith, co-chair of DLA Piper’s Corporate and Securities practice. “We have already begun to build on last year’s success during the first half of 2007.”
