V.32bis/V.32 Modem Software

Toronto, Canada -GAO Research Inc. (www.GAOResearch.com) has announced the availability of its V.32bis/32 modem software optimized for better performance. It has both transmit and receive functions which are used to process received samples and to generate samples to transmit. This software provides full duplex mode of operation on PSTN and on point-to-point two-wire leased line circuits with data signalling rates at 14400,12000, 9600, 7200, and 4800bps synchronously. The V.32/32bis modem software is designed to process data in 10ms intervals and can be adapted for a variety of sampling rates such as 9600Hz, 8000Hz or 7200Hz.
In these modems, channels are separated by using echo cancellation techniques and QAM is used for each channel with synchronous line transmission at 2400 baud. Exchange of rate sequences is provided during start-up to establish the data rate, coding, and any other special facilities. The software has been tested against various impairment combinations using TAS (Telephone Network Emulator). In addition, the software supports commonly used processors such as TI C5000 & C6000 series DSPs, ARM processors and ADI DSPs and OS such as Windows, VxWorks, and Linux.
