Wednesday 30 May 2007 LAWFUEL – The Law News Wire – Mr Gokhan Ozsahin today pleaded guilty in the Melbourne Magistrates Court to one count of intentionally or recklessly failing to comply with a requirement made under the Australian Securities & Investments Commission (ASIC) Act to provide all reasonable assistance to assist with an ASIC investigation. Mr Ozsahin had attended ASIC offices for the purposes of a compulsory interview but sought an adjournment of that interview shortly after it commenced so he could obtain legal representation. The adjournment was granted on that basis. Mr Ozsahin then failed to comply with subsequent ASIC requests to make alternative interview arrangements prior to the filing of the charge against him.
Mr Ozsahin was convicted by Magistrate Lambden and fined $400 plus costs. The Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions prosecuted the matter.
