A website for lawyers set up by former Wellington lawyer and journalist John Bowie is proving an international hit, attracting about 35,000 visitors a month from around the world.
Mr Bowie set up lawfuel.com in 2001 to serve as a single point on the web where law firms could find links to research and recent happenings in the industry. The site was last year redesigned by Wellington firm LinuxNet.
More than 70,000 people have subscribed to LawFuel’s fortnightly online newsletter, about 85 per cent of whom are based in the United States.
Through the website, Mr Bowie has sold more than 100 copies of an “e-book” designed to help lawyers cope with public relations crises, with customers coming from as far away as Iceland and Abu Dhabi.
