Palo Alto Business Attorney Douglas Y. Park will teach a course on Starting Startups during the spring of 2012 at Stanford University.

Palo Alto, California – February 29, 2012

Douglas Y. Park, a Silicon Valley Corporate Attorney, will teach Starting Startups through the Stanford University Continuing Studies Program during Spring 2012. Teaching the class for a second time after an overwhelming response the first time around, Mr. Park explains the motivation for the course: “Many entrepreneurs have good ideas but fall short on executing them. This course is designed to help founders and their teams down the path of better implementation so that they can grow their companies and fulfill their objectives.”

The class will cover topics critical to a technology company’s chances of success during the startup phase, such as:

Identifying and understanding the market opportunity
Developing the product
Building the right team, including the board of directors and the board of advisors
Positioning the company for external funding by angels or venture capitalists
Addressing legal issues that early stage ventures face

The class is intended for entrepreneurs who want to gain insights into the fundamental challenges that will face when starting their company, as well as ways to successfully confront these challenges. Classes will consist of lectures, discussions, and guest speakers.

Beginning on April 2, 2012, classes will be held on eight consecutive Monday evenings from 6:45 pm to 9:00 pm on the Stanford campus. Further details, including registration information, are available on the class page on the Stanford University Continuing Studies website.
