15th July 2004 – LAWFUEL – Clifford Chance adds to its International Arbitration Practice Arbitration expert Carlos Ignacio Suarez Anzorena is the latest recruit to join Clifford Chance LLP’s premier London arbitration group.
In conjunction with the New York and Madrid offices, which, with the Sao Paulo office, are already actively involved in Latin America, Ignacio will be working to enhance the firm’s regional arbitration practice and to focus on commercial work flowing from it.
Ignacio is uniquely qualified for this task. He was the key Argentine government lawyer involved in the world’s largest set of investment protection arbitriations around the collapse of the country’s economy in 2001. Ignacio has advised and represented state entities in other international arbitrations arising from infrastructure projects and financial contracts.

Ignacio holds a degree in law, graduating with honours from the University of Buenos Aires, and a Master of Laws degree from Harvard Law School. He lectures regularly at various universities in Argentina on international arbitration and related topics.
The appointment of Carlos Ignacio Suarez Anzorena follows the recent addition of high profile arbitration expert, Professor Pierre Mayer, to the Paris office.
