2 August, 2004 Read today’s legal news, law firm announcements & legal research at LAWFUELNorton Rose, the international law firm, today announced the appointment of Egil Myklebust as adviser to the firm’s board.

Myklebust will work closely with the board and management of the firm advising on strategic matters. He has experience in the sectors of energy exploration and renewables which are key strengths for Norton Rose.

Myklebust is currently Chairman of SAS, Vice Chairman of Norske Skog ASA, member of the board of Sandvik AB, member of the board of the University of Oslo and member of the executive committee of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development. He has also been a member of the supervisory board of Hoechst AG (1998-2000) and member of the executive committee of the International Chamber of Commerce, Paris (1998-1999).

Myklebust was Director General of the Confederation of Norwegian Business and Industry in 1989 and then went on to become Deputy President (1990), President and Chief Executive officer (1991-2001) and chairman of the board of Norsk Hydro (2001-2004).
