The Personal Injury Law Firm List Of The Largest in the Business

Updated in September 2023

Ben Thomson* Ranking the largest personal injury law firms is a tough call as personal injury law is one of the most contentious and competitive in the legal field.  We read about major claims and lawsuits and some giant awards that make the headlines.

But which firms are actually the largest in the personal injury field?  Where are you likely to find the best personal injury attorneys?

With so many firms competing it can be difficult to determine which one is right for you and size alone is certainly no determinant as to necessarily getting the best attorneys.

The fact is that personal injury law involves a vast array of ‘PI’ lawyers, handling every area of law from car accident lawyers to those handling fall accidents, acting on emotional distress cases, injury arising from the use of dangerous drugs through to those involved in areas like traumatic brain injury and other catastrophic injury claims.

Recent top personal injury claims have seen Nevada personal injury firms obtain a major verdict against Acadia Healthcare in a $485 million verdict. But this wasn’t from a single law firm, but rather firms that teamed up to take t his major case.

In the Acardia case it was Claggett & Sykes Law Firm of Las Vegas and Reno, Nev., Fadduol, Cluff, Hardy, & Conaway Law Firm, Martinez, Hart, Sanchez & Romero Law Firm, and Harada & Winters teamed up over four years ago to create a powerhouse legal team taking on the healthcare giant – and winning.

So different firms and different combinations of firms will win.

In other words, they vary.  Their expertise depends upon their experience, their success in dealing with personal injury victims, and achieving fair compensation for their clients.

We’ve compiled a list of 20 of the largest personal injury law firms that specialize in personal injury litigation.  We’ve listed the largest firm, but have not ranked the others according to size, but rather put them in as ‘among’ the largest.

Firms change. Attorney numbers change. Ranking the largest law firms may also involve those who achieve the biggest verdicts and that does not necessarily equate to ‘size’ in terms of the number of lawyers and paralegals they use.

But the firms listed are undoubtedly large and have a proven track record of successfully representing their clients and demanding justice for their injuries.

Handling personal injury cases is something that requires careful judgment on the part of the potential client and while the list of these top personal injury law firms is notable for their success and size, you need to be aware that there are also excellent smaller law firms handling accident cases, wrongful death claims, product liability claims and all the other issues that personal injury law firms handle.

Choose carefully and do your research.

Client Success Stories: Real Results from Big-Ticket Legal Representation

These 20 firms have a track record of securing large settlements and verdicts for their clients in a variety of practice areas, including medical malpractice, product liability, and wrongful death.

One such success story involves a woman who suffered extensive injuries after being hit by a truck while crossing the street. She turned to one of these top-tier firms for help navigating her case against multiple defendants – the driver, his employer, and others involved in causing the accident. The legal team’s meticulous investigation uncovered evidence that ultimately resulted in an $8 million settlement for their client.

Another notable outcome came from an aviation disaster lawsuit handled by another firm on this list. Families affected by the tragedy sought justice through complex litigation against several responsible parties, including aircraft manufacturers and air traffic controllers. With significant resources at their disposal, this firm was able to secure more than $2 billion in damages combined for their clients.

While not every case will result in such massive payouts or high-profile media attention as these examples illustrate, working with these big-name firms can greatly increase your chances of achieving desirable outcomes, regardless of how difficult or challenging your situation may be.

Criticisms of Large Law Firm Practices and How to Find the Right Fit

While large personal injury law firms have a lot to offer, there are also criticisms of their practices. Some people feel that these firms can be impersonal and prioritize profits over clients.

It’s important to do your research and find a firm that aligns with your values and goals. Look for firms that have a track record of success in cases similar to yours, and don’t be afraid to ask for references or read online reviews. It’s also important to consider the size of the firm and how much attention your case will receive.

A smaller firm may provide more personalized attention, but a larger firm may have more resources at their disposal. Ultimately, finding the right fit is crucial for a successful outcome in your personal injury lawsuit.

Navigating the Pre-Screening Process: Tips for Seeking Out a Quality Attorney

Personal injury law is a highly competitive field, and there’s no shortage of firms vying for your attention. When seeking representation from one of the biggest personal injury law firms, it’s important to do your research beforehand. Start by browsing through online reviews on Google, Yelp, and Avvo to get an idea of former clients’ experiences.

Next, ask friends or family members if they can recommend any attorneys based on their own experiences in similar cases. Don’t hesitate to schedule consultations with multiple attorneys before making a final decision.

During these meetings, pay attention to how each lawyer communicates with you and whether they seem genuinely invested in advocating for your best interests. Make sure they have experience handling cases like yours specifically and are willing to guide you through every step of the legal process.

Ultimately, taking proactive steps towards finding quality representation can help ensure that you come out ahead after pursuing legal action against those responsible for your injuries or damages.

Understanding Contingency Fees and Financial Arrangements with Large Firms

Contingency fees are a common financial arrangement for personal injury cases with large law firms. This means that the attorney only gets paid if they win the case, taking a percentage of the settlement or verdict.

The percentage can vary depending on the firm and the complexity of the case, but it typically ranges from 33 percent to 40 percent. It’s important to understand that while this may seem like a high fee, it covers all of the expenses associated with your case, including expert witnesses and court fees.

Additionally, large firms often have more resources to invest in your case, which can increase your chances of success. Before signing any agreement, make sure you fully understand the fee structure and ask any questions you may have.

Investigative Resources: How Massive Legal Teams Can Uncover Critical Evidence

Investigative Resources play a vital role in personal injury cases, and large law firms have substantial resources to invest in investigations. These firms often work with teams of investigators who gather important evidence to support your case. From interviewing witnesses to digging into medical records or accident reports, these experts can uncover crucial details that may make all the difference in court.

Additionally, larger personal injury law firms also have access to advanced technology and other cutting-edge tools for gathering evidence. For example, they might use 3D imaging software to reconstruct an accident scene or track down security footage from nearby surveillance cameras.

All these investigative resources are essential when building a strong case that leads to maximum compensation. However, it’s worth noting that hiring a large firm doesn’t guarantee success – even with massive legal teams, you’ll still need experienced attorneys who know how best to leverage this evidence in court proceedings.

Conclusion: Making an Informed Decision on Legal Representation

When it comes to choosing a personal injury law firm, it’s important to do your research and make an informed decision based on the research and your gut instinct as to who best satisfies you with their capabilities.

Biggest personal injury law firms may seem like the obvious choice, but it’s important to consider all factors before making a decision. Look for a firm with experience in your specific type of case, a track record of success, and a team that you feel comfortable working with.

Don’t be afraid to ask questions during the pre-screening process and get a clear understanding of their contingency fee structure. Remember that the goal is to find an attorney who will fight for your rights and help you receive the compensation you deserve. With the right research and preparation, you can find the right legal representation for your personal injury case.

In conclusion, choosing to work with a large personal injury law firm can be a wise decision when seeking justice for your injury.

These behemoth firms have the resources, experience, and manpower to take on even the most complex cases and fight for maximum compensation. However, it’s important to do your research and find the right fit for your needs.

By considering factors such as client success stories, contingency fees, and investigative resources, you can make an informed decision on legal representation. With the right team behind you, you can demand justice and get the compensation you deserve.
