Recognizing the demands for businesses in the rapidly evolving compliance arena, the Criminal Defense and Compliance Practice Group is committed to monitoring the latest developments in regulatory change and governmental initiatives.

“Having vigorously prosecuted business crimes for over 21 years, including as the United States Attorney, Jim brings a new perspective on white collar crime, and corporate compliance and governance,” says Richard B. Scherrer, Managing Partner of Armstrong Teasdale. “Not only does he possess the skills of an experienced trial attorney, but through his many years of government service he has developed strong working relationships with federal prosecutors in the United States Attorney’s Offices around the country and the Department of Justice. He will be a tremendous asset for our clients.”

Martin will be dividing his time between Armstrong Teasdale and a new venture he is heading up– The PREVENE Group, a law specialty group. Recognizing that prosecutors and federal agents look at issues differently than the business community, The PREVENE Group employs former federal prosecutors and agents to enhance companies’ corporate governance and compliance programs. With years of investigative experience, The PREVENE Group will bring the knowledge, insight and ability to look at corporate conduct and issues from a prosecutor’s perspective and enable companies to anticipate and prevent potential criminal conduct before it creates a corporate disaster.
