NEW YORK – LAWFUEL – Legal News Network – Allen & Overy LLP announced today that Patricia M. Hynes has joined the international legal practice as Senior Counsel in its New York office.
Ms. Hynes is a leading trial lawyer who has been listed since 1993 in Best Lawyers in America, as well as Who’s Who in American Law and the Euromoney Guide to the World’s Leading Litigation Lawyers. Ms. Hynes has also been included in the National Law Journal’s Profile of America’s Top 50 Woman Litigators, and its Survey of the Fifty Most Influential Woman Lawyers in America. She is a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, and has taught Trial Advocacy at Harvard Law School, Fordham Law School and the National Institute of Trial Advocacy. She joins Allen & Overy from Milberg Weiss Bershad & Schulman LLP, where she has been of counsel since 2000. Additionally, since 2003, Ms. Hynes has served as Chair of the Board of Directors of the Legal Aid Society, where she led a team that successfully restructured the organization.

She has served as Chair of the Merit Selection Panel of the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York for Magistrate Judges since 2002 and has served on, and chaired, the American Bar Association Standing Committee on the Federal Judiciary. She was also appointed by New York City Mayor Bloomberg to the New York City Charter Revision Commission in 2002, and currently serves as a member of the Departmental Disciplinary Committee of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court, First Judicial Department.
Ms. Hynes previously served for 15 years as an Assistant United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York, where she had a number of executive positions, including Executive Assistant U.S. Attorney.
