Milan, Rome – LAWFUEL – Europe Law News – DLA Piper today announced the appointment of two new partners Luigi Rizzi and Alessandro Corno, who both specialise in financial services. Eight other fee earners have also been recruited to join a range of practice groups in Italy.

Luigi Rizzi (40) joins as a partner from Simmons & Simmons. He mainly deals with financial service and regulatory activities, as well as capital markets and recently acted on the Monti Ascensori listing. Luigi gained extensive experience in the field of financial intermediation supervision with CONSOB – Commissione Nazionale per la Società e la Borsa, the Italian securities market regulator. Luigi, who will be based in the Rome office, is a chartered accountant and holds a degree in Economics and Commerce from La Sapienza University, in Rome.

Alessandro Corno (33) is highly experienced in investment funds and SGRs – Società di Gestione del Risparmio, funds management company – and is particularly active in the field of private equity. He joins DLA Piper from Gianni, Origoni Grippo and Partners. Alessandro holds a JD from the University of Milan and is based in the Milan office.

The other hires cover antitrust (1), banking (1), financial services (2), litigation(1), insurance (1), real estate (1) and town planning (1).
