LEX Nexus the most prominent law firm in India has announced its exit from its name and re-name the law firm to HATHI & PARTNERS from October 19, 2006 for better branding in the international and domestic legal market.
Shrikant Hathi, Managing partner is of the view that the market appears to be extra crowded with similar and static names as the name LEX Nexus, therefore will be operating under its new name HATHI & PARTNERS as it makes business sense and better strategy, although LEX Nexus is a service mark and is also recommended or ranked by various independent credential bodies and journals for shipping, dispute resolution, corporate, commercial, projects pertaining to oil, gas, energy, infrastructure, construction, mining.
HATHI & PARTNERS will have offices at Mumbai and New Delhi with associate offices at Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chandigarh, Chennai, Kochi, Kolkata and overseas associate offices at 34 countries. The firm will also act as the lead coordinator for Worldlawyers.NET.
To strengthen its practice, an additional office was added at Mumbai from August 15, 2006 and with its growing practice the firm has added a new partner Uttam Hathi effective from October 19, 2006 for corporate, commercial, finance, securities and commercial litigation matters. Uttam Hathi was previously associated with Mumbai based law firm Little & Co thereafter practiced law as Counsel in the Bombay High Court and Supreme Court of India.
LEX Nexus was established in Mumbai in 1998 thereafter started its New Delhi office in the year 2003. The firm now has 8 partners and other back-up staffs and has a strong international clientele including some of the largest MNC’s. The firm also has a division ATI AVOCATS that processes legal work outsourced from overseas.
