LAWFUEL – The Law Newswire – The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) today announced the addition of Alexis Flores, aka Mario Flores to its “Ten Most Wanted Fugitives” list. Flores is being sought for his alleged involvement in the brutal murder of a five year old female. He should be considered armed and extremely dangerous.
On July 29, 2000, Iriana DeJesus, a five-year-old female, was reported missing from her residence in Philadelphia . An intensive city-wide search was initiated by the Philadelphia Police Department and on August 3, 2000, DeJesus’ deceased and decomposed body was discovered. It was determined that the cause of death was strangulation.
A DNA sample and other evidence was collected from the crime scene and the unknown subject’s DNA profile was entered by the Pennsylvania State Police into the National DNA database known as CODIS.
On March 22, 2007, the Philadelphia Police Department was notified that the submitted DNA profile had been positively linked to Alexis Flores, a convicted felon in the state of Arizona . Latent fingerprints recovered at the original crime scene were also found to be a positive match to Alexis Flores.
On March 22, 2007, the Philadelphia Police Department obtained an arrest warrant in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for Alexis Flores charging him with murder and various other felonies. Additionally, on March 22, 2007, the Philadelphia Division of the FBI obtained an Unlawful Flight to Avoid Prosecution (UFAP) warrant for Alexis Flores in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
Alexis Flores is described as a Hispanic male, 5’4”, 130 to 140 lbs, with brown eyes and black hair. He was born on July 18 1982, in Honduras, and has used several aliases to include Mario Roberto Flores and Alex Contreras.
Alexis Flores is the 487th person to be placed on the FBI’s “Ten Most Wanted Fugitives” list, which was established in March 1950. Since then, 457 fugitives have been apprehended or located, 150 of them as a result of citizen cooperation.
A reward of up to $100,000 is being offered for any information leading directly to the arrest of Alexis Flores. Individuals with information concerning
