Auckland lawyer John Hackett Climbs Kilimanjaro For Charity

LAWFUEL – The Legal Newswire – Auckland lawyer John Hackett travels to Tanzania this month to climb Mt Kilimanjaro and, as he does, to raise money for people with cystic fibrosis, LawTalk reports.

The AJ Park partner leaves for Tanzania on 17 September with a group of intellectual property lawyers and others closely associated with IP law.

“I’m dedicating my expedition to the top of Africa’s highest mountain to Breath4CF,” John says.

“Breath4CF is an organisation formed to fund awareness of cystic fibrosis and to provide sufferers of CF with a better quality of life.

“My godson, Alex, and his twin sister Lizzie, were both born with CF. They are now aged 16, and live as normal a life as possible while suffering from this debilitating disease.

“Make no mistake – this disease will greatly curtail their life expectancy, and an organisation like Breath4CF is there to help them enjoy as normal a quality of life as they can hope to lead.”

John, who aims to raise $10,000 for this charity, has set up a webpage – www.fundraiseonline.co.nz/JohnHackett/ – for people interested in supporting the project.
