LAWFUEL – The Legal Newswire – It is likely that Saddam Hussein aide ‘Chemical Ali” (Ali Hasan Al-Majid) and two other aides of the former dictator will be hung this weekend, according to reports from Iraq.
The death sentences have been upheld by an Iraqi Appeals court. The other two aides to be executed are former Iraqi Defense Minister Sultan Hashem Ahmed and former Deputy Director of Operations for the Iraqi Armed Forces Hussein Rashid Mohammed.
“Chemical Ali” is a first cousin of Saddam and earned his nickname after poisonous gas was used against thousands of Kurds in northern Iraq two decades ago.
