Bali Bomber Suspects Have Jail Terms Cut In Ramadan Celebration

LAWFUEL – The Legal Newswire – Ten terrorists involved in the first and second Bali bombings are set to have their jail terms reduced to celebrate the end of Ramadan, it was revealed yesterday on the second anniversary of one of the bombings.

As victims and families gathered in Bali yesterday to commemorate the second anniversary of the 2005 bombing, the list of radicals responsible for the carnage – and now earmarked for remission – was being made public.

The announcement comes as an insensitive blow to families of those killed and injured in both murderous attacks, which left a total of 220 innocent people and five suicide bombers dead. Of those 92 were Australians.

And it came on the same day as a solemn ceremony was held in the grounds of the Australian Consulate in Bali to remember the lives of the 20 innocent people who died in the October 1, 2005, bombings. Four Australians were among those killed.

The three suicide bombers, who walked into the three restaurants wearing backpack bombs and detonated them, also died.
