Frankfurt – LAWFUEL – The Legal Newswire – The international law firm Jones Day has advised OM Group in its acquisition of Borchers GmbH, headquartered in Langenfeld Germany, and of its French subsidiary Borchers France S.A.S.
Founded in 1807 as a family-run business, Borchers, a producer of additives enhancing the performance of coatings and ink, has been part of the Lanxess Group since 2004. Borchers has production operations in Langenfeld, Germany and Castres, France. It is represented in 130 countries through a global sales network with 90 employees and approximately Euro 36 million sales revenue in 2006.
The NYSE-listed OM Group is a leading producer of specialty chemicals and related materials, headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio. The acquisition of Borchers enhances OM Group’s geographic presence in Europe and Asia while enabling OM Group to leverage its existing strength to accelerate sales growth of Borchers’ water-based additives in the US.
