Business Technology Partners Delivers Turnkey Voice and Data Network to New York City Law Firm

NEW YORK– LAWFUEL – The Legal Newswire –Business Technology Partners (BTP), Inc., one of New York City’s premier IT consulting firms, announced today that it has successfully designed and deployed a state-of–the-art voice and data network for Allegaert Berger & Vogel LLP. As part of an office relocation project, the 20-plus person New York City-based law firm worked with BTP to upgrade its technology infrastructure, including the installation of VoIP telephones, new Dell desktops, a BlackBerry server, and time tracking and accounting software applications.

Utilizing the company’s existing server hardware, BTP revamped Allegaert Berger & Vogel’s network installing a Microsoft Small Business Server. This provided a next-generation platform to streamline workflow and improve communications as well as collaboration among the firms attorneys and personnel.

BTP deployed new Dell desktops and installed upgrades of Sage Software’s Timeslips time tracking software and Peachtree accounting application to streamline billing and financial processes. The firm now has integrated messaging and VoIP telephones, utilizing Cisco Call Manager Express, and also has mobile access to email via a new BlackBerry server.

“The implementation of our new voice and data network allows us to deliver an unprecedented level of customer service,” said Christopher Allegaert, Partner at Allegaert Berger & Vogel. “BTP took the time to understand our specific business processes, designed the appropriate system that leveraged existing IT resources, and most importantly helped ensure a smooth transition to our new office.”

As part of the network design, BTP configured the system with backward compatibility to accommodate several software applications that were upgraded. This allows Allegaert Berger & Vogel to have full access to documents and information stored in older word processing and financial applications.

“During the office relocation, we transitioned Allegaert Berger & Vogel’s IT resources on Friday and got them up and running on the new system when they came in on Monday,” said Lara Lee Hullinghorst, Director of Operations at Business Technology Partners. “This turnkey approach was critical to their business, and now the firm has a scalable technology platform that will enable them to keep pace with their growing client needs.”
