Douglas Lichtman Joins Los Angeles Office as Scholar in Residence
LOS ANGELES, CA – LAWFUEL – December 7, 2007 – Loeb & Loeb LLP announced today that Professor Douglas Lichtman has joined as the firm’s first Scholar in Residence. Mr. Lichtman is a tenured professor of law at UCLA, where his research focuses on patent law, copyright law and topics at the intersection of law and technology. At Loeb, Lichtman will work with clients on cutting-edge strategic issues related to intellectual property.

Lichtman comes to Loeb with an impressive track record of published scholarship and public commentary. His work has been featured in nearly all of the leading legal research publications, including the Journal of Law & Economics, the Yale Law Journal, and the Harvard Business Review, and in addition Lichtman has a track record of writing for mainstream publications like the Wall Street Journal and the Los Angeles Times, and of commenting for media outlets like CNN and NPR.

Lichtman joined the faculty at UCLA this past summer. Prior to that, he was a tenured law professor at the University of Chicago and Editor of The Journal of Law & Economics. He earned his B.S.E. from Duke University in Electrical Engineering/Computer Science, where he graduated 1st in his class, and his J.D. from Yale Law School.
