Nationwide independent law firm, Copeland Ashcroft, is set to restructure its operations into two distinct entities later this year.
The thriving practice, which specialises in workplace law spanning employment, health and safety and immigration, has experienced significant growth over the past decade. Under the management of partners Janet Copeland and Kate Ashcroft, the firm has more than doubled in size during this time.
“As we celebrate a decade of partnership, we’ve taken this opportunity to reflect on how we can best position ourselves for the future, in consideration of the most effective way to service our clients, manage our operations, and continue to develop our people,” said managing partner Janet Copeland.
“In light of our continued growth and geographical reach, we’ve decided to split the firm into two new North and South Island entities.”
Janet Copeland and Naoimh McAllister will form a new business in the South Island. Kate Ashcroft, Myriam Mitchell and Christie McGregor will form a new business in the North Island.
“This change will enable us to better deliver our clients bespoke professional services, deepen our focus on localised expertise, and foster closer-knit, stronger teams,” said Kate Ashcroft.
As of 1 August, the two sister companies will operate alongside one another to continue to provide specialised workplace law advice and trusted representation for businesses across New Zealand.
