King & Wood Mallesons Australia (KWM), a member of Asia’s top tier law firm network, is pleased to announce the promotion of 4 lawyers to its Australia partnership.

Joining the KWM Australia partnership are:

  • Adam Black – Energy, Resources & Infrastructure, Brisbane. Adam specialises in project development, acquisitions and disposals, joint ventures/capital partnering, commercial contracts, corporate work and regulatory advice.
  • Karim Issa – Mergers & Acquisitions, Brisbane. Karim focusses on private M&A, private equity, joint ventures, capital raisings (including secondary equity and debt capital raisings) and other corporate transactions.
  • Genovieve Lajeunesse – Mergers & Acquisitions, Melbourne. Genovieve represents corporate and financial clients across diverse domestic and cross-border transactions, including public and private M&A, joint ventures and other corporate governance matters.
  • Richard Shi – Energy, Resources & Infrastructure, Perth. Richard specialises in LNG, carbon capture storage, new energy, iron ore and lithium projects.

These promotions, effective from 1 July 2025, reflect our distinct legal excellence and commitment to investing in future leaders to provide clients with a deep bench of talent in their areas of need. Our new partners highlight the continued growth in demand for private markets dealmaking capability, and represent the significance of digital and energy transition-related projects to underwriting economic growth and prosperity.

They build on a series of recent lateral partner appointments in areas of strategic importance – Lizzie Knight (Foreign Investment Regulatory), Ben Davidson (Construction Dispute Resolution), Andy Ferris (Debt Capital Markets – Singapore),and Niro Ananda (Private Capital M&A).
