Linklaters continues its aggressive U.S. expansion, highlighted by the recent February 2026 lease of an additional 48,000 square feet at 1290 Avenue of the Americas in New York, following a 6,500 square foot addition in October 2025, pushing total NY space beyond 150,000 square feet at approximately $100 per square foot.
This move, driven by talent growth needs, aligns with broader U.S. momentum, including 13 lateral partner hires in 2025, such as a four-partner litigation team (Adeel Mangi, Muhammad Faridi, Diana Conner, and George LoBiondo) from Patterson Belknap in February 2025, boosting U.S. partners to over 50 across NY and DC.
Financially, the firm’s 2025 U.S. revenue rose 26% with profits up 57%, contributing to global revenue growth of 11% to £2.32 billion and PEP increasing 15% to £2.2 million. Globally, Linklaters maintains over 3,100 lawyers in 30 offices across 20 countries, with 27 lateral hires firmwide in 2025 and a focus on high-value corporate deals totaling $211 billion in 2024.
The firm however suffered a recent reversal in its Paris office with Ropes and Gray recruiting two partners and eight associates from Linklaters.
Key growth initiatives include the November 2025 launch of a 20-member AI specialist team to support client-facing lawyers worldwide and the firmwide rollout of Legora AI across all offices, positioning it as the first Magic Circle firm to fully adopt such technology for enhanced efficiency and collaboration.
In Europe, the firm is bolstering its Italian M&A practice through strategic hires while facing objections to its proposed London Barbican office redevelopment.
