Reed Smith Acquires Saudi Corporate Team to Boost Saudi Arabia Office

RIYADH,  March 30, 2026 – Global law firm Reed Smith today announced the acquisition of a leading Saudi corporate team from AlAmmar Law, including Mohammed Alammar and Anmar Algharifi as partners and Norah Alqasem as an associate in its Riyadh office. The appointments significantly enhance Reed Smith’s corporate offering in Saudi Arabia and reflect the firm’s continued strategic investment in the Kingdom and the wider Middle East region. Existing clients of AlAmmar Law will now benefit from seamless access to Reed Smith’s global platform, offering a comprehensive, full-service legal capability across multiple sectors and practice areas worldwide.

Mike Young, head of the firm’s EMEA Corporate Group, said: “This is a key step in the continued expansion of our corporate practice across Europe and the Middle East. Anders Nilsson, managing partner of Reed Smith’s Middle East offices, said: “Mohammed and Anmar are among the most accomplished corporate lawyers in the Saudi market. Their experience advising on complex, high-value transactions and their strong relationships across the Kingdom significantly deepen our capabilities on the ground in Riyadh and position us to support clients navigating Saudi Arabia’s rapidly evolving business landscape.”

Alammar has more than 20 years’ experience advising clients across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) on corporate matters, projects and infrastructure, PPP, real estate, investment funds, and finance. He has been ranked Tier 1 for Commercial, Corporate and M&A by The Legal 500 EMEA and has also been recognised by IFLR1000 for his deep experience in M&A and Islamic finance.

Alammar said: “Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 continues to drive an unprecedented and ambitious economic transformation in the Kingdom, and clients increasingly require integrated international and local advice. Reed Smith’s global reach and sector focus provide us with a powerful platform to deliver the support required by our clients. We are excited to contribute to the firm’s growth and offering in the Kingdom.”

Algharifi has more than 20 years’ experience advising on public and private M&A, joint ventures, capital markets, private equity, corporate structuring, and foreign investment matters. He also advises family investment offices on regional and global investments, governance, and compliance, and was ranked by Chambers Global as a leading corporate/commercial lawyer in Saudi Arabia.

Algharifi added: “In addition to Reed Smith’s commitment to investing in the Saudi market, what attracted us to the firm is its sector-driven strategy and truly international client base. There is significant opportunity in the Saudi market for sophisticated corporate and capital markets work, and we look forward to building a practice that connects local opportunity with global capital.”

Alammar and Algharifi join Reed Smith from AlAmmar Law, a firm founded by Alammar that has advised a wide range of high-profile clients across the region for over 20 years. Its client roster includes the Saudi Arabian government, leading financial institutions, prominent private equity and real estate investors, and numerous multinational Fortune 500 companies operating in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
