Australia Law – MinterEllison strengthens leadership with seven new Partner appointments

Minters' Australian CEO believes artificial intelligence tools could bring the end of the billable hour

MinterEllison has appointed seven new Partners effective 1 July 2026, deepening its capability across M&A / Capital Markets, Dispute Resolution, Infrastructure, Construction and Projects, and Tax.

These seven appointments reflect where client demand is growing and the landscape is shifting. Private capital structures are becoming more sophisticated, M&A activity is growing in specialist industries like hospitality and real estate, and the tax environment continues to evolve for multinationals and private wealth.

At the same time, major infrastructure pipelines, energy transition and regulatory reforms are generating increasingly complex disputes, while financial services and technology (including an emerging wave of AI-related claims) are producing large-scale class actions and cross-border litigation. The new cohort of partners bring deep expertise across each of these areas.

Virginia Briggs, Managing Partner(pictured) and CEO of MinterEllison, said:

“Our clients need excellent advisers who are invested in their industry, who bring clarity and independent judgement under pressure, and who are ahead of how technology is changing the way complex problems should be solved. Our seven new partners demonstrate our commitment to being that excellent adviser. They bring deep industry expertise in the sectors where our clients are navigating the most consequential decisions, they are at the forefront of how AI is changing the way we work, and they embody the curiosity and collaboration that sets us apart. Our ambition is to bring value to our clients and help them disrupt the future intentionally. These appointments are how we keep that promise.”
